Right from the beginning during the planning stage, we structure and design your website to work on all devices including mobile devices like smartphones and tablets, as well as all desktop computer screen sizes. This is also important for Google optimisation as websites that are mobile friendly rank higher.
There’s a large range of things you can do yourself in the easy to use admin panel, including changing the look and feel of your website, swapping out images/photos, changing content and text, updating contact details, editing settings, adding new users, resetting passwords, and a lot more.
A website host is a service that provides web servers which stores your website to make it accessible via the Internet.
Ongoing tweaks and updates are required to keep your website current and running smoothly.
We provide ongoing training, help and support to our clients whenever needed. You can choose a monthly plan or an on-demand hourly rate of $65+GST.
The first phase is identifying the website’s goals and purpose. This involves meeting with you in person if you are based in New Plymouth or Taranaki, otherwise over the phone or Skype. I’ll ask a lot of questions to get a good understanding of exactly what it is you need, and offer my advice for the best solution moving forward.
The second phase involves planning the structure and layout of your website, as well as setting up the website project and establishing a timeline with deadlines to aim for.
In the third phase I begin the fun stuff; putting all the graphics, photos, text and various elements together to form the actual design of your website. Throughout this phase I take extra care to ensure your website is visually appealing, fast to load, easy to use and not too busy or cluttered.
During the fourth phase I take the content you have provided me, format it and put it in all the right places throughout your website. I also tweak the layout of the website to fit your content perfectly.
This phase involves pulling everything together into a fully functional website using WordPress, the GeneratePress theme, the Elementor page builder and various plugins. This is where I do basic search engine optimisation so your website is friendly to Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc. I install Google Analytics so you can track statistics for your site and keep an eye on how it’s doing. Optimisation for mobile devices also occurs during this phase.
Testing is a very important part of the overall process. We need to ensure the website works well on all devices and screen sizes. Any issues we find are fixed before deploying the website.
The seventh and final phase is deploying the website on your web host (or our own web host if you want us to handle all that for you) so that it’s live and available over the Internet via your domain name or web address. I’ll then keep an eye on it to ensure everything is going smoothly, and follow up with you for training sessions so you can learn how to edit the website’s content yourself if you want to. Alternatively, I’m happy to take care of any future changes you may need at my hourly rate of $65+GST per hour.
